    ABOUT THE ROLE 

    CHICA PROJECT is looking for Youth Program Intern (in-person) to support the strategic execution of the organization's Peer Leader (PL) Program. The PL program is an opportunity for our experienced participants to develop leadership and facilitation skills while building community ties through collaborative events and relationship building. The successful candidate will embody CHICA PROJECT's values in partnership assessment and implement new program initiatives and events rooted in collaboration and innovation. Reporting to the PL Program Associate, the successful candidate will work closely with interns and fellows, community partners, youth participants, and volunteers to ensure high quality facilitation of CHICA PROJECT's curriculum, “Chica's in Bloom”. This internship opportunity is for the 2022-2023 academic year, starting late October/early November and ending late June of 2023 and requires a commitment of 8-10 weekly hours. THIS IS A PAID OPPORTUNITY.

    ABOUT YOU 

    CHICA PROJECT is looking for someone who is mission-driven, with a positive attitude to play a critical role in ensuring that the day-to-day functioning of CHICA PROJECT's PL programming are being executed effectively and efficiently. This is a valuable opportunity for an intern to gain experience in the nonprofit sector, develop social emotional skills, and join a powerful network of women in Massachusetts and beyond. Further qualifications include:

    • Passionate about youth development, social justice, and community building
    • Experience in facilitating/executing youth programs
    • Experience working with communities of color and grassroots organizations, with understanding of systemic oppressions
    • Interest in program and event coordination and operations
    • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Multilingual Proficiency or fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Haitian Creole is preferred, but not required
    • Driver's license preferred, but not required
    • Strong facilitation skills
    • A great sense of humor!
    • Love of continuous learning

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    The position will be mainly responsible for the following areas, but duties can expand beyond central responsibilities of:

    • Collaborate with staff and fellows to create, strengthen, and maintain current program operations from recruitment to evaluation
    • Manage PL Program data entry (attendance, demographics, network, etc.)
    • Create and modify any necessary documents for program engagement (interest forms, waitlists, applications, in-program assessment, and end-of-program surveys)
    • Assist program team with PL program communications including PL outreach, reminders, and check-insAttend program events such as peer leader sessions, community based sessions, orientations, and special events like the annual fundraiser
    • Assist coordination of logistics from execution of session agendas, relationships with facilitators, hosting of sessions, zoom polls, participant engagement, and coordinating transportation and/or meals for participants
