    The Basic Nursing Assistant Program prepares students for employment as a Certified Nurse Assistant in hospitals, home health, long-term care, and other healthcare facilities. The program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Satisfactory completion of the program leads to eligibility to take the state’s Nurse Aide Competency Exam for certification. Certification is required for employment as a Certified Nurse Assistant.

    A Nursing Instructor for CNA is responsible for course planning and instruction, teaching students the patient care and basic nursing skills needed to provide physical care and emotional support to patients. A B.N.A. Instructor prepares students for employment as nurse assistants and to take the state exam to receive certification. Performs related duties as required.

    THIS IS A 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITION AT THE PAY RATE OF $30-$35 AN HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Provides instruction through classroom theory/lecture, laboratory demonstration and skills practices, and supervised clinical sessions at a designated health care facility such as a nursing home or long-term care facility.
    • Provides students with course syllabus including course outline, grading standards, attendance policies, and classroom behavioral expectations.
    • Prepares lessons to teach and facilitate student learning to develop basic nursing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills using appropriate methods of instruction.
    • Maintains student attendance and grading records in compliance with CCLC policy and guidelines.
    • Constructs exams and assignments to evaluate student learning. Evaluates student progress and provides students with timely feedback.
    • Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of grades and paperwork related to instruction.
    • Maintains a purposeful, orderly, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
    • Consults with the school administrator to resolve issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing
      • Candidates with an ADN or BSN must have a current IDPH approved Train the Trainer/Evaluator program certification
      • Candidates with a MSN or higher are exempt from the Train the Trainer/Evaluator program certification requirement
    • Current valid Registered Professional Nursing Illinois license
    • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS healthcare provider CPR certification
    • Experience as an RN in at least one of the following areas: providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults, preferred
    • Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse (RN), preferred
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as SCHOOLOGY is preferred and experience on the ZOOM type platform is preferred.
