    Job Description

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    Under direct supervision of the Supervisor, Compliance Audit, the Compliance Audit Specialist is responsible for performing the audit of a member’s benefit before the retirement or refund benefit is finalized.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ●       Audit accounts of individual members to ensure accuracy (i.e., pension, refunds, deceased and disability).

    ●       Ensure all settlement related records have been reported accurately by the employer.

    ●       Coordinate with Compliance Audit team and/or Employer to verify and resolve variances that may occur due to discrepancies in data or changes to the pension code.

    ●       Prepare manual corrections as needed and document such corrections.

    ●       Research and review audit process to create consistent solutions and documentation; provide potential resolution as needed. 

    ●       Track and prepare requested documents for external and internal purposes.

    ●       Coordinate with audit team members in resolving member and employer related exceptions.

    ●       Review assigned benefit escalation tickets in a timely and accurate manner.

    ●       Notify senior team members of any process breakdown immediately.

    ●       Assist Supervisor, Compliance Audit and Senior Manager, Compliance on various projects as required.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    ●       Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office and MS Excel.

    ●       Ability to collaborate as a team and stay on top of workload.

    ●       Demonstrate analytical and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

    ●       Strong problem solving and time management skills.

    ●       Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.

    ●       Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication technique to suit different audiences. 

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    ·       Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related field.

    ●       Minimum of one year experience is preferred.

    ●       High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

     

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    ●       While performing the duties of this job, the employee will likely sit for long periods of time, with some standing and repetitive physical activity.

    ●       The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

     

    ENVIRONMENT

    ●       This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, and photocopiers).
