General Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Member Services, the Member Services Representative handles inquiries from CTPF’s members. The Member Services Representative is responsible for giving members accurate, timely, and complete information about various retirement topics.
Job Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
● Actively listen to members and ask detailed questions to correctly identify the reason for the call and the ways in which the member’s issues can be addressed.
● Provide members with accurate, timely, and complete information with regard to retirement, refunds, pension estimates, optional services, separation from work, disability, health insurance, and death claims.
● Enter detailed documentation in CTPF system with regard to member requests and the resolution or information provided during each call.
● Provide resolution to questions, following up with members on any issue not resolved on the initial call.
● Provide in-person member counseling on pension and health care issues.
● Escalate calls as appropriate to managers or subject matter experts.
Position Qualifications
● Knowledge of CPTF and reciprocal systems.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Effective listening and problem solving skills.
Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Master’s Degree in Marketing Communications.
● One to three years of related experience.
Physical Requirements
● Lifting and moving up to five pounds occasionally.
● Sitting for long periods of time; some standing and repetitive physical activity.
Environment
● This job operates in a professional office environment, consisting of regular conversation, business machines, (copies, printers, etc.), and telephones.
