CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE POSITION

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Chicagoland Quad Cities is a Distribution Company with a small fleet of trucks for local deliveries.  Chicagoland specializes in the warehousing of food grade product, chemicals, plastics, inks, and other materials that are in the raw material form and ready to be shipped to manufacturers across the country. 

 THE POSITION:   The position being filled is that of a Customer Service Representative.  This is a union position with Teamsters Local 781.  After a successful 30-day Temporary Hire Trial Position, the Temporary Employee would become a candidate for permanent hire and become a member of the union!

 JOB DESCRIPTION: Warehouse Customer Service Representative. 

General office duties include; entering and processing all inbounds, maintaining inventories and creating bills of lading for shipments. 

We will train you to use Accuplus, among other programs which are specialized, computerized inventory management systems.  

Our customers are often faced with deadlines, which means we are too! So, being able to operate in a fast paced office enviroment is a must!

A good candidate will have a pleasant phone personality and be able to communicate well with others. Multitasking as well as good basic math skills and attention to detail are required along with knowledge of Microsoft products (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) is beneficial. Also, the ability to operate standard office equipment including a computer, fax machine, copy machine, and 9-key adding machine is a must.

UPON HIRE PAY INFORMATION

With annual service increases the pay will grow to over $16.70 per hour after 3 years.  FULL FAMILY BLUE CROSS MEDICAL BENEFITS AND PENSION BENEFITS ARE PAID FOR BY THE EMPLOYER!  One week’s vacation after one year of service.  The position is expected to be a 40 hour per week job, but 32 hours per week are guaranteed.  Five personal days, with four of those days being paid days off.  There is a union initiation fee and union dues of $43.00 per month. Hours are from 7:30 am – 4 pm or 8 am – 4:30 pm on Monday – Friday.
