Controller / Accounting Chicago's First Lady Cruises seeks an entry level Controller/Accountant to assist with general accounting processes and data entry while supporting our Senior Accountant. We seek an individual who can contribute to our business by helping to improve our ability to respond to the increasing demand for information. Enjoy the benefits of a full time salaried position. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Data Entry into Quickbooks GL ADP Payroll entry Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and worksheets Work with various departments to obtain information supporting accruals and adjustments Help to analyze accounting results, investigate variances and document findings Support the financial reporting processes and communication of results Help ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures Balancing cash receipts against reports submitted Provide support for budget and forecast preparation Job Requirements BS degree in Accounting required with a min 3.0 gpa 1-3 years of accounting experience in a mid-size corporate environment Or 1-2 internships providing relevant experience Cash management experience Experience in a retail/hospitality operation is a plus Experience with ADP Payroll entry a plus Special Position Requirements Solid skills and technical accounting knowledge Understanding of financial processes and internal controls Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment Solid communication, writing and interpersonal skills Demonstrates leadership ability/potential Able to work independently as well as in a group setting Dedicated to excellence and is a detailed oriented person Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on Proficient in spreadsheets, Quickbooks, G-suite software is a plus Please send your resume and cover letter to Amy Nachel, Director of Human Resources.
