    Are you creative? Can you tell a compelling story in text, image, and video formats that captures the audience's attention?

    Chick-fil-A Barry Road is looking for a creative and eager intern to help us enhance our local brand while giving the right candidate the ability to build his/her real life marketing skills.

    We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to join our team. The goal of this program is to help further develop your creative multimedia and social media skills in a professional work environment.

    As a Social Media/Marketing Intern, you will be working closely with the Executive Director of Sales who will provide you with real hands-on projects that daily tasks that use social media platforms to promote, manage, and share the Chick-fil-A Barry Road image and story.  We are looking for a highly motivated intern to help us achieve our vision. We would like for them to help us leverage social media to create interest in our brand and to drive prospects through the entire sales journey.  We are looking for an intern to help execute the tactics of this strategic marketing plan. All applicants must be enrolled in any of the Kansas City colleges in order to be considered.

    Desired Attributes and Qualities

    • Experience in engaging with customers in a professional or brand-specific scope

    • Professional verbal and written communication skills

    • Graphic design experience desirable

    • Familiarity with social media best practices, viral and word-of-mouth online marketing practices

    • Early adopter of evolving social media landscape and all its related technological enhancements

    • Knowledge of analyzing websites, creating a content strategy, link building, keyword strategy, and implementing SEO best practices to increase rankings on all major search networks support a positive customer experience

    • Moderate user-generated content and engage with followers

    • Create/ proof-read social media calendars 

    • 1 year of experience in digital marketing (Classes, Other Internships, Projects, etc.)

    • Knowledge of various writing tools (G Suite tools, MS Office)

    • Ability to identify and resolve problems

    • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills

     

    Expected Role

    • Set up and optimize web pages to increase presence and including stories), working off of yearly focuses

    • Editing simple videos (trimming length, adjusting lighting, etc.)

    • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals

    • Complete hashtag research, tracking performance and relevancy of brand-specific hashtags

    • Monitor postings to ensure the brand message is constant from the terminology used to images posted

    • Aid in the daily aspects of promoting the businesses campaigns

    • Interact with followers and potential customers by communicating and answering questions through the company's social pages

    • Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on popular social media websites such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn

    • Plan for, prepare all related media, and post at least 2-3 social media posts per day per platform (can be redundant posts)

    Expectations

    Goals/Deliverables

    The goal of the intern activity is to create social media content and engagement that drives business opportunities for the company.

    The intern will measure and report the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against strategic goals for improvemet.

    Learning Objectives

    The intern will get real-world exposure to contemporary digital marketing techniques for taking prospects through the entire sales journey, from awareness to purchase. These techniques are leaner and more efficient than traditional marketing tactics.

    Project Timeline

    Support is needed from 3 months to 6 months based on the performance. It is expected to achieve the performance goals within 3 months. However, additional time, up to 6 months may be needed to make any unforeseen adjustments

    Deliverable and expected outcomes

    The deliverable would be the execution of marketing tactics, the measurement of the performance, and adjusting the tactics to achieve the desired results.

    The expected outcome is to achieve the strategic marketing goals that are set to drive increased sales and prospect engagement.

    Supervision

    The individual responsible for supervising the intern and ensuring that the experience is mutually beneficial is the company and any  marketing consultants who may be working for the company.
