    TPG Hotels TownePlace Suites Albany Job Title: Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager Reports to: General Manager Purpose for the Position: The Chief Engineer is responsible for assisting the General Manager in all building maintenance operations of the hotel. This role is a leader within the team and an ambassador for the hotel, which entails providing strong leadership and strategic planning with all departments in support of our service culture. Communicate thoroughly. • Hold all team members (Including yourself!) accountable by focusing on performance and measurable results. • Organize, conduct, and engage in team and department meetings to keep team members current with necessary information. • Practice effective time management to prioritize as relative duties pertain to the team and business. • Understand all financial aspects of relevant departments, including a general comprehension of P&Ls and budgeting guidelines as determined by the General Manager. • Practice proper ordering procedures using purchase orders, budget guidelines, and a checkbook for tracking. • Conduct regular inventories of all supplies to guarantee ample supplies, tools, and par levels are always on hand. • Aid in the development of department budgets and forecasts. • Walk the property daily. All public spaces, mechanical equipment, and storage areas should be inspected. • Consistently monitor and manage the hotel’s appearance, with quality and attention to detail always in mind. This includes the grounds and landscaping, as well as performing outside custodial duties such as snow removal. • Implement and maintain a consistent preventative maintenance program to optimize the guest experience. • Identify areas of opportunity and contribute to the growth of the hotel with a hands-on implementation strategy. • Practice fair and consistent Human Resources procedures with detailed documentation. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. • Establish and contribute to new goals for the team, keeping everyone engaged and motivated. • Conduct day-to-day business with integrity, making decisions on behalf of the hotel, team, and guests. • Think and plan long term as it relates to the company, market, economy, and competition. • Travel may be required for training and conferences. • Enter a minimum of four RPM (room preventative maintenance) completions into GXP each week. • Enter a minimum of four work orders into GXP each day. • Respond to all emails daily. • Complete all Basecamp tasks before they expire and update them regularly. • Complete approved Certified Pool Operators course (CPO) and check/record pool chemical levels daily. • Maintain an average of 50 hours worked each week. Qualifications: • Physical Demands: Lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
