Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the organization. The CFO directs all aspects of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting, reporting, risk management, investor relations, and funding strategies. This role works closely with the CEO and executive team to support strategic initiatives and ensure the organization meets its financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy aligned with long-term goals.
Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and board to guide decision-making.
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee accounting, auditing, and financial reporting functions.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
Monitor key financial metrics, forecasts, and performance indicators.
Cash Flow & Risk Management
Manage the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure.
Assess and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Investment & Fundraising (if applicable)
Manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
Evaluate and support funding strategies, mergers/acquisitions, and capital raising efforts.
Oversee investment portfolios and asset management.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop the finance and accounting teams.
Foster a high-performance culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence.
Operational Support
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., HR, IT, Operations) to drive efficiencies and support business goals.
Evaluate and implement financial systems and technologies to streamline processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required)
CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred
Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles
Proven experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and team leadership
Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations
Experience with financial reporting systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks)
