    Bring your finance acumen to a rapidly growing government contractor as a member of the leadership team launching the company into the next phase of growth as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Your Job Duties:

    You will be the head of the finance and accounting department, reporting directly to the CEO. You will serve as a critical member of our executive leadership team, be the linchpin for strong financial stewardship, rigorous government contracting compliance, and effective corporate growth strategies. You'll oversee all aspects of finance, including accounting, budgeting, audit, treasury, financial and compliance, as well as the human resources department, guiding the company's financial and accounting function and risk mitigation.

    Financial Strategy and Planning

    • Develop and execute a forward-thinking financial strategy to achieve ambitious long-term business objectives and support company growth goals
    • Create robust, predictive financial models and dashboards that provide critical insights for executive decision-making
    • Direct the entire budgeting process, from annual planning to precise forecasting and in-depth variance analysis

    Government Contracting Compliance

    • Establish and maintain an impenetrable financial control environment, ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA to safeguard company integrity
    • Lead all external audits and government agency interactions, overseeing CAS Disclosure Statements and Incurred Cost Submissions for swift approvals and strong regulatory relationships
    • Strategically optimize financial architecture through rate development, indirect cost structures, and cost proposals, directly empowering sales and operations to secure and execute contracts

    Accounting and Financial Operations

    • Provide strategic oversight of all accounting operations, from general ledger to revenue recognition and month-end close to optimize financial performance and mitigate risk
    • Implement and enforce internal controls, ensuring financial reporting is consistently accurate & timely
    • Leverage advanced accounting system (JAMIS) to enhance data integrity, drive process improvements, and spearhead automation initiatives that elevate financial capabilities.

    Leadership and Organizational Development

    • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team (oversee Director of Finance and Accounting and their down line that includes an Accounting Manager AP/AR staff and payroll)
    • Oversight and management of Human Resources team and contracts team
    • Champion a culture of accountability and operational excellence within department
    • Collaborate strategically with executive peers, aligning financial vision with key business development, program delivery, and innovation efforts to maximize company-wide success

    Audit, Risk, and Corporate Governance

    • Lead audit preparation, financial risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure all financial filings, taxes, and regulatory requirements are met accurately and on time.
    • Represent the company to financial partners, government regulators, and external auditors.

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit

    You have:

    • Extensive knowledge of government contracting financial operations, including revenue recognition practices, indirect rates, CAS, FAR/DFARS, and DCAA audit practices
    • Experience overseeing successful M&A transactions, strategic planning, and financial due diligence
    • Demonstrated success in scaling financial infrastructure and leading cross-functional teams through periods of growth and transformation
    • Proven experience managing finance and accounting functions in a growing government services company
    • Proficiency with JAMIS or equivalent GovCon ERP systems
    • Experience overseeing Contracts and Human Resources (desired, not required)
    • Experience with Cost Plus contracts

    You might have

    • Familiarity with Time & Materials and Fixed-Price contract structures
    • Prior experience in public accounting / CPA Firm, ideally with government contractor clients
    • Experience leading and developing Human Resources (HR) and Contracts business groups

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Compensation, Benefits, and Perks – For You

    This role can be based in Charleston, SC, Headquarters, or at our Alexandria, VA location, with regular travel to Headquarters. Relocation assistance may be provided.

    Your compensation will be a base salary of $330,000 - $350,000, depending on experience, plus an annual performance bonus.
