Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance organization through the next phase of growth—including preparation for a potential public listing. This executive leader will be responsible for building and maturing public company-ready financial operations, strengthening internal controls, partnering on corporate strategy, and aligning financial rigor with our mission. As a key step towards this potential public listing, we've also recently brought on a General Counsel with an extensive background in public companies and corporate law.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will report to the CEO with a dotted line relationship with the chair of the Audit Committee of the Board, and will work closely with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders. This role will also oversee the Accounting and Billing departments, and will lead the initiative to hire and build out an FP&A & SEC reporting team. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in IPO readiness, financial leadership at a high-growth company, and an exceptional ability to translate data into strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the company's financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and tax planning. Ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- IPO Readiness & Public Company Infrastructure: Lead all financial workstreams related to public offering preparation, including S-1 readiness, audit coordination, SOX compliance planning and SEC & investor-facing financial reporting.
- Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of the company's strategic plan, aligning financial and business goals to drive growth. Analyze market trends, identify opportunities for expansion and improvement, and assess potential risks.
- Operational Leadership: Evaluate and manage financial aspects of business initiatives, contracts, and partnerships.
- Corporate Development: Spearhead corporate development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and investments. Evaluate and execute strategic transactions that enhance shareholder value.
- Risk Management: Implement comprehensive risk management strategies to protect the company's assets and ensure business continuity.
- Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial partners. Communicate financial performance and strategic direction to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, investors, and employees.
- Leadership and Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of finance, accounting and billing professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- CPA required, big 4 background or fintech experience a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years of public company CFO leadership experience.
- Experience leading companies from Pre-IPO/IPO Readiness through public Company transitions highly valued
- Experience and knowledge of highly complex accounting standards including PCAOB requirements and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, corporate finance, and managing company finances at a high level.
- High proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools- willing and capable of "getting into the weeds"
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
