POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, whom we will refer to as Confidential Company, is seeking a strategic, innovative, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and support the company’s continued operational excellence. Headquartered in the DFW Metroplex, the company manages affordable housing residential properties across eleven states.
This role is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for both setting financial strategy and staying close to day-to-day operations. The CFO will provide guidance to the CEO and leadership team while leading a solid in-house accounting team.
The ideal candidate is an experienced financial leader with a deep understanding of property management accounting, a strong command of Excel and financial reporting, excellent leadership and analytical skills, and a talent for creating operational efficiencies.

Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the CEO and executive team.
Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Manage accounting, finance, and payroll teams; oversee day-to-day financial operations.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial practices.
Oversee cash flow management, capital expenditures, and financial risk management.
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate performance and growth opportunities.
Prepare and present timely, accurate financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for property performance and portfolio returns.
Serve as primary liaison for banks, investors, auditors, and financial partners.
Implement and enhance financial systems, controls, and processes.
Support pricing strategies, lease structures, and financial feasibility studies for new projects.
Drive cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising service quality or compliance.

Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Proficiency with property management and financial software (e.g., Real Page Accounting, Resman, etc.).
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible financial experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience in real estate, property management, or related industry is highly preferred.
Experience with property management accounting required.
