    Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and visionary Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead all aspects of human resources in support of our mission, vision, and values. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CHRO plays a critical role in cultivating an inclusive, high-performing culture that supports our diverse workforce and strengthens our mission-oriented Community Health Center.

    Position Overview

    The CHRO leads enterprise-level strategic HR initiatives, ensuring YNHS attracts, develops, and retains a high-quality workforce. This role oversees HR operations, benefits, compensation, employee wellness and employee engagement.

    This is an executive-level position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and supervising:

    • HR Specialists and Generalists
    • Training and Development Manager
    • Credentialing Specialist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership for all HR functions and ensure alignment with YNHS organizational goals.
    • Lead workforce planning, recruitment strategies, retention initiatives, and leadership development.
    • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and accrediting-body regulations (EEOC, unemployment, L&I, etc.).
    • Oversee employee benefits administration and total rewards strategy.
    • Champion a culture of accountability, engagement, diversity, and continuous improvement.
    • Guide compensation strategy and maintain fiscal responsibility.
    • Lead HR data integrity, reporting, and metrics-driven decision-making.
    • Develop and oversee the annual Recruitment and Retention Workplan.
    • Direct performance management systems and coaching processes.
    • Oversee HR policy modernization and ensure confidentiality of personnel records.
    • Lead employee appreciation and organizational culture initiatives.
    • Participate in executive and organizational meetings as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), HR, or a related graduate field.
    • Five (5) or more years of senior-level HR leadership experience , including personnel law, workforce management, and healthcare administration.
    • Current SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
    • Proven success leading complex HR functions and guiding executive leadership on culture, compliance, and strategic workforce planning.
    • Advanced knowledge of employment law, HR operations, organizational development, and change management.
    • Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and analytical ability.
    • Must be eligible to participate in federal and state healthcare programs (no sanctions/exclusions).
