    Job Description

    The Chief Information Officer (CIO) has principal authority and responsibility for the leadership, vision, strategy, development, evaluation, and management of all information technology (IT) systems and services within NATIVE HEALTH. The CIO ensures that IT initiatives align with NATIVE HEALTH’s mission, vision, and strategic goals, supporting high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, financial stability, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and the evolving landscape of healthcare technology, including electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth, data analytics, cybersecurity, and interoperability.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

    1. Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of organization-wide standards, programs, and systems to achieve the desired initiatives, objectives, and outcomes.
    2. Provides direction, supervision, and evaluates the IT staff. Holds staff accountable for completing objectives and meeting performance targets.
    3. Builds and supports relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of collaboration to develop partnerships and resolve problems. Promotes positive relationships among various organizations.
    4. Develops, reviews, and monitors financial outcomes to ensure that Native Health meets organizational objectives.
    5. Directs the development and integration of new systems, operations, and services, making timely recommendations to senior management that reflect Native Health's mission, vision, and values.
    6. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring Native Health’s cybersecurity protections.
    7. Supports the organization as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1. A master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity is preferred.
    2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role within a healthcare provider organization.
    3. Proven experience with EHR implementation, optimization, and management (e.g., NextGen)
    4. Proven history of successfully managing large-scale IT projects and initiatives.
    5. Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH).
    6. Experience with healthcare data analytics and business intelligence tools.

    Standard Employment Requirements:

    1. Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if the applicant is from out of state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the past five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
    2. Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid card for the duration of employment with NATIVE HEALTH.
    3. Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
    4. Must provide an up-to-date immunization (IZ) record upon employment.
    5. Must have a current Tuberculosis (TB) skin test report within the past 12 months upon employment and provide an annual update.
    6. Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 calendar days of employment and maintain certification during employment.
