Functions at the administrative level to provide leadership to deliver quality patient care. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and directing services for Northwest Surgical Hospital and Community Hospital campuses. Assures that cost effective and high quality patient care is delivered through the departments under his/her responsibility in accordance with Federal, State, and accreditation requirements and organizational goals. Ensures the continuous and timely availability of nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical services to patients.
The System Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) ensures nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical standards of patient care and standards of nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical practices are consistent with current research findings and nationally recognized professional standards. This position supports the implementation of the findings of current research into the policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical care.
Ensures nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical service staff carries out applicable processes in the patient care and organization-wide functions and assigns responsibility to individuals or groups of nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical staff members to act on improving the nursing service's performance.
The System CNO actively participates in the hospital's leadership functions, and collaborates with other hospital leaders in designing and providing patient care and services. This position participates with hospital leaders in providing qualified nursing and other applicable ancillary clinical staff ensuring excellent care for patients and is fiscally responsible for budgeting resources for the provision of patient care.
Ensures financial, operational and strategic objectives are achieved. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
