  • Responsibilities

This is a top-tier operational mandate for a seasoned executive to assume full operational command of an industrial electrical services and contracting enterprise. The organization executes heavy industrial, commercial, and data center electrical builds, managing complex, high-capital projects across a backlog positioned for significant growth in one of the nation's most active construction corridors.

The incoming Chief Operating Officer will own the operational engine of the business—field execution, project controls, workforce pipeline, and safety culture. The mandate is to institutionalize the discipline required to deliver large, complex electrical projects on schedule and on margin while building the leadership bench and cash-flow rigor to support aggressive expansion. This is a role for a heavyweight operator who can scale a contracting business without sacrificing profitability or safety.

    KEY LEADERSHIP MANDATES

    • Operational P&L Command: Own the full operational P&L across the project portfolio, with direct accountability for EBITDA and margin performance.
    • Major Project Execution: Direct the delivery of heavy industrial, commercial, and data center electrical builds on schedule and within budget.
    • Project Controls & Cash Flow: Institutionalize WIP reporting, change-order discipline, and project cash-flow management to protect margin and liquidity.
    • Workforce Pipeline Development: Build the recruiting, apprenticeship, and retention systems to secure skilled electrical labor in a constrained market.
    • Safety Culture Leadership: Champion a best-in-class safety program across all field operations in a high-hazard industrial environment.
    • Field Leadership Structure: Develop project managers, superintendents, and general foremen capable of supporting an expanding book of work.
    • Estimating-to-Execution Integrity: Tighten the handoff from estimating to field execution to eliminate margin erosion on awarded work.
    • Scalable Operating Model: Build the systems, KPIs, and prefab capabilities required to scale the operation profitably across markets.

    IDEAL EXECUTIVE PROFILE

The successful candidate is a senior operations executive with a background in electrical, mechanical, or industrial trade contracting. You possess a verifiable track record of full operational P&L ownership, delivery of major capital projects, and proven success scaling a contracting workforce and project-controls infrastructure. You combine deep field-execution expertise with the financial discipline to manage cash flow on high-capital builds.

    WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DISTINCT

This role offers full operational command of a contracting enterprise positioned at the center of the industrial and data center construction boom. With a strong backlog and capital backing, you will have the autonomy to build the operating model that scales the business. It is a C-suite seat with significant equity-of-influence and a direct partnership with ownership.
