  • Responsibilities

    Our client, an energy-saving company, is seeking an experienced and execution-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to run, scale, and optimize the operational backbone of the company.

    The COO will oversee daily operations, project execution, field operations, logistics, workflows, customer journey, and operational support for the sales team.

    This role does not oversee the sales reps or revenue generation, but does manage all operational aspects of the sales process, including workflow design, lead handoff, scheduling, project preparation, quality assurance, and post-sales fulfillment.

    The COO will work closely with the CEO to translate company vision into operational systems, structure, accountability, and measurable results.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring efficient, predictable, and high-quality performance
    • Implement operational systems, SOPs, KPIs, and performance dashboards
    • Build and mentor high-performance operations, fulfillment, customer service, and project management teams
    • Implement accountability systems, coaching structures, and performance standards
    • Strengthen communication and alignment between departments
    • Manage field teams, installations, inspections, energy-efficiency project execution, and customer service workflows
    • Ensure compliance with energy-efficiency program rules, utility requirements, and industry regulations
    • Create structure, accountability, and cadence across the organization
    • Build and manage the full sales operations infrastructure, including workflows, automations, and handoff processes
    • Ensure accurate and timely lead flow, scheduling, documentation, and pipeline readiness
    • Oversee proposal generation, pre-installation checks, compliance documentation, inventory coordination, and post-sales tasks
    • Maintain strong collaboration with the sales team without directly managing sales reps or setting quotas
    • Own CRM operations, reporting, and performance analytics
    • Streamline processes to help sales operate efficiently, professionally, and compliantly
    • Oversee project scheduling, field operations, installation teams, subcontractors, and service quality
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with program standards
    • Optimize routing, labor planning, materials management, and job costing
    • Introduce performance metrics and scorecards for field teams and subcontractors
    • Partner with finance to ensure operational accuracy, reporting, and scalability
    • Identify opportunities to reduce operational bottlenecks and increase throughput
    • Translate company goals into operational roadmaps and scalable processes
    • Identify opportunities for expansion, new programs, and operational upgrades
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to increase efficiency and improve customer experience
    • Prepare the organization for growth by implementing infrastructure, process, and technology upgrades

    Qualifications:

    • 7 plus years of senior operations leadership, preferably in energy efficiency, construction, home services, field operations, or logistics-based industries
    • Proven experience building operational systems, teams, and workflows
    • Strong understanding of sales operations, CRM management, and cross-department coordination
    • Exceptional project management and process-building skills
    • Experience scaling operational teams and improving efficiency in high-volume environments
    • Strong financial and data-driven decision-making skills
    • Ability to manage multiple departments while maintaining clarity, structure, and accountability
