Step into a fast-moving legal environment and bring structure to scale. We're looking for a COO to run day-to-day operations across an in-office law firm and its remote team. This role is about creating order, building reporting systems, and driving accountability across a 200-person organization.
Build and run reporting dashboards (Power BI or Domo) so the CEO can manage by numbers.
Establish firm-wide operating rhythm: weekly KPI reviews, exception reporting, and owner follow-ups.
Oversee the full client process: intake → medical treatment → negotiation → payment. Fix bottlenecks and standardize handoffs.
Align workflows between the legal team in LA and the distributed remote team.
Partner with finance and fractional CFO on trust accounting, operating accounts, and monthly close.
Advise on HR structure, with attention to California compliance, for a mostly remote staff.
Operator first: brings calm to a complex, fast environment.
Reporting athlete: builds dashboards and uses data to drive behavior.
Cross-functional glue: moves between finance, client ops, medical treatment, billing, and payments with ease.
Pattern recognizer: learns fast, adapts fast.
Senior operations leadership experience.
Background in a large plaintiff law firm or similar professional services environment.
Or, experience running large remote teams with strong reporting systems.
Strong knowledge of KPI/reporting tools (Power BI or Domo).
LA-based and in-office. Hybrid may be possible 1–2 days a week for the right fit, but this is an in-office role.
Proven track record of building cadence, accountability, and reporting across multiple functions.
Familiarity with California HR compliance.
Experience scaling operations in a multi-office or remote-heavy organization.
