Job Title: Chief Operating Officer - Ophthalmic Clinic
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the daily operations and strategic planning of our ophthalmic clinic with two practitioners. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence and enhance patient care services in alignment with our mission to provide world-class eye care. The COO will work closely with the Physician/Owner to implement best practices, optimize clinic operations, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the ophthalmic clinic, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively, with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that promote growth and improve operational performance.
- Ensure the clinic is compliant with all applicable laws and healthcare regulations, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with medical staff to support clinical service delivery and operational excellence.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through leadership, innovation, and the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing management team; evaluate performance and implement training programs.
- Work closely with human resources to oversee staff recruitment, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Establish partnerships with vendors, healthcare providers, and industry stakeholders to enhance service delivery and patient experience.
- Provide oversight of the billing and revenue cycle functions, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, effective collections, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting, preferably within eye care or a similar specialty.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, financial management, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive organizational change.
