Our client is a new start up division of a growing Facility Services company that provides commercial exterior cleaning services to HOAs, Apartment Communities, Office Buildings, Retails Shopping Centers, and other properties in the Southeast.
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, people-first Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our growing service organization. This role will serve as a critical partner to the CEO, CRO, and CTO, helping to build and scale operations through process development, team leadership, and cross-functional alignment.
As COO, you will own the performance of our operations teams across all markets, ensuring that field execution, workforce development, and financial performance are operating at the highest level. In addition to core operational leadership, the ideal candidate will bring or build strong technical knowledge in the service areas of: Exterior Cleaning, Turf Care, and Pest Control.
This expertise will allow the COO to act as a consultative resource for both the internal operations team and customers, ensuring technical excellence and service credibility across our core offerings.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can drive execution while providing expert-level field support and operational vision.
The ideal candidate will embrace the creation of the customized software used to administer service offerings and manage service fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the CEO, CRO, and CTO to align operational strategies with company vision and revenue goals
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations team across multiple service lines
- Establish, document, and refine SOPs that drive efficiency, consistency, and operational efficiency
- Provide expert-level consultation and technical leadership in any service line that is provided now or in the future
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Fleet, Facilities, and Equipment specific to internal operations
- Lead workforce planning, labor forecasting, and technician recruiting in partnership with HR/recruiting
- Monitor, manage, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to service quality, customer retention, and field productivity
- Leverage technology to streamline job scheduling, routing, reporting, and field communication
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational regulations (including all licensing requirements in all markets for all services), and company policies
- Evaluate tools, platforms, and vendors that improve operational visibility and scalability
- Collaborate with finance to build and track budgets, cost controls, and margin optimization strategies
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, technical excellence and customer-first service delivery
Success Factors
- Field teams are fully staffed, well-trained, and consistently meet or exceed performance benchmarks (including quality of work, efficiency of work, and customer experience ratings)
- Operational processes are scalable, tech-enabled, and clearly documented
- New market launch playbook written after Raleigh and Charlotte are off the ground, stabilized, and on growth trajectory
- Service delivery is consistent, on-time, and aligned with brand standards
- Department KPIs and financial targets are achieved or exceeded
- Operational teams are supported, engaged, and motivated by strong leadership
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in an operations leadership role, preferably in a service-based or field organization
- Proven track record of leading people and teams with measurable results
- Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and driving operational KPIs
- Strong competency in financial metrics, workforce planning, and labor management
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization
- Comfort with technology platforms (CRM, ERP, scheduling software, field service tools)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
