    About ShipScience

ShipScience is a fast-growing, profitable SaaS company helping high-volume shippers make sense of their parcel shipping data to reduce costs, recover lost dollars, and streamline claims.

Our AI-powered platform provides carrier network optimization, invoice audit automation, loss & damage claims management, and invoice reconciliation for eCommerce and B2B shippers.

We grew 100% YoY in 2025 , we're profitable, and we're building a category-defining product in shipping intelligence and claims automation. Our team of ~25 operates with high ownership, low ego, and a bias toward action.

We're now looking for a Chief of Staff to the CEO — a strategic executor who can bring clarity, structure, and operational excellence as we continue to scale.

    About the Role

We are hiring a Type 1: Execution & Operations Chief of Staff — someone who can turn ideas into executed reality , run a lightweight but strong operating cadence, and drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, CS, and Sales.

This is not an administrative EA role and not a “mini-CEO” role.

This is a high-ownership operator role designed to multiply the CEO's impact , increase execution velocity, and reduce friction across the company.

You will have a front-row seat to product, strategy, and operations, and you will help shape how ShipScience scales from 25 → 50+ employees.

    What You'll Do

    Drive Company Operating Rhythm

    • Build and run ShipScience's operating cadence (OKRs, quarterly planning, weekly leadership meetings, monthly reviews).
    • Ensure every initiative has clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
    • Improve execution transparency and cross-functional alignment.

    Turn Strategy into Execution

    • Translate CEO priorities into structured projects and action plans.
    • Manage cross-functional initiatives end-to-end.
    • Eliminate blockers, ensure follow-up, and keep major projects on track.

Be a Force Multiplier for the CEO

    • Streamline communication and decision-making.
    • Prepare the CEO for key meetings and ensure follow-through.
    • Help prioritize high-leverage work and reduce noise.

    Lead Cross-Functional Projects

    Examples may include:

    • New product launches
    • Pricing/packaging updates
    • Marketplace partner onboarding
    • Claims workflow improvements
    • Billing/reconciliation automation
    • Internal tooling/process upgrades

    Support Leadership Alignment & Communication

    • Partner with leadership to keep teams aligned on goals and priorities.
    • Build and maintain internal communication frameworks (updates, all-hands, planning docs).
    • Plan and run leadership offsites and internal summits.

Improve Processes & Reduce Organizational Friction

    • Identify gaps in operational workflows and fix them.
    • Create simple, effective processes that scale without bureaucracy.
    • Bring clarity to ambiguous or cross-team problem areas.

    What Success Looks Like

    Within 3–6 months:

    • ShipScience's operating cadence is running smoothly.
    • Leadership feels more aligned, informed, and accountable.
    • Major initiatives move faster and with fewer blockers.
    • The CEO's time is focused on the highest-value strategic work.
    • You're seen as the “connective tissue” that helps the org run smoothly.

    About You (Must-Haves)

    • 5–10+ years in Strategy & Ops, BizOps, Program Management, Management Consulting, or Chief of Staff work in a fast-growth environment.
    • Proven ability to drive complex cross-functional projects independently.
    • Experience designing or running operating cadences (OKRs, planning, leadership rhythms).
    • Excellent communication skills — structured, concise, clear.
    • Strong judgment, prioritization, and ability to “manage up.”
    • High ownership, low ego, strong follow-through.
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, fast pace, and evolving priorities.
    • Ability to build trust quickly with leaders and teammates.

    Nice-to-Haves

    • Experience in SaaS, logistics, supply chain, or shipping tech.
    • Experience working directly with a founder/CEO in a scaling startup.
    • Experience building internal tooling, processes, or documentation systems.

    Compensation

We offer competitive compensation aligned with experience level and market expectations:

    • Base Salary: $170,000–$220,000
    • Bonus: 10–20% target
    • Equity: Meaningful options in a profitable, high-growth startup
    • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and flexible PTO
    • Remote-friendly with opportunities for team offsites and collaboration

    Why ShipScience?

    • Profitable, fast-growing, and building a defensible niche in shipping intelligence.
    • A strong, supportive leadership team that values clarity, speed, integrity, and ownership.
    • A role that gives you visibility and impact across the entire company.
    • The chance to help build a category-defining platform from the inside.
    • Zero bureaucracy — high agency, high trust, and meaningful work every day.
