Serving over 1000 programs catering to Nassau County's youth and families, CCCN is on the lookout for dedicated, driven, and dynamic individuals to join our growing team. Join the Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc., a private, nonprofit organization, as we seek a Bilingual/Spanish Early Childhood Specialist to be part of our Early Childhood Services Department located in Garden City, NY, US. Compensation: $30.25 to $33 per hour ($50,000 to $60,000 when annualized) Responsibilities: • Provide support, coaching, guidance, and consultation to licensed and registered families, group families, and center-based childcare programs throughout Nassau County. • Implement grant-generated educational programs and assist in delivering contracted initiatives, and similar projects that expand our partnerships with government, education, and community organizations. • Develop and implement training and professional development sessions on topics such as child development, learning environments, classroom management, health and safety, and OCFS regulations. • Engage with providers and programs by providing technical assistance via telephone and email support. • Document and report information related to our grants and various contracts, regarding the essential work we do to support the Early Childhood workforce. • Participate in functions of the NYS Early Care and Learning Council Infant Toddler Network. • Collaborate with other professionals in the organization, partnering with Parent Resource Counselors, Health and Nutrition experts, and the Community Outreach team. • Build relationships with Early Childhood Educators and programs, using a strengths-based, reflective approach to professional development. • Design and participate in your own professional growth and development, by participating in workshops, conferences, webinars, networking meetings, in-house trainings, and reflective supervision. Qualifications: • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and 2 years of experience working directly with children and families in an early childhood setting Or Associate's Degree or some college coursework unrelated to Early Childhood Education or a related field plus additional training (Introduction to NYS Core Body of Knowledge for Professional Development Providers) and two years of experience working directly with children and families in an early childhood setting. • Must speak, read, and write Spanish fluently. • Excellent English and Spanish verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse community. • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as Google Drive, and willingness to learn virtual training platforms such as Zoom and Teams. • Some knowledge of the Environmental Rating Scales (ITERS, ECERS, FCCERS) is preferred, but not required. • Comfortable with speaking to large groups and presenting training and professional development sessions. (Support and Training provided in Adult Learning Theory and presentation skills.) • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, as work requires to support the Early Childhood workforce. • Willingness to travel throughout Nassau County, as well as overnight travel via air or ground transportation to regional conferences, as needed. • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to adopt a strengths-based approach to supporting providers, teachers, Directors, and other members of the Early Childhood community. • Ability to lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds, as well as manage prolonged sitting, use of computer and other technology, and phone use. • Must obtain the New York State T-TAP Credential within 180 days of hire.
