Riverwood Center is located in beautiful Southwest Michigan with staff at seven sites across Berrien County. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and a member of Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health, Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, and the National Council for Behavioral Health.

    Responsibilities:

    · Responsible for diagnosing and treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities

    · Conducts assessments, develops treatment plan utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications

    · Provides education on medication, wellness and health issues to consumers, providers, family members and staff

    · Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications

    · Applies culturally competent recovery-based practices, trauma informed culture of safety to aid individuals in their recovery process and person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process

    Qualifications:

    · Doctorate degree from an accredited medical program and residency in psychiatry.

    · Licensed by the Michigan Department of Commerce or Professional Regulation as a physician and is board certified in child psychiatry or board eligible within three years

    · One or more years’ experience working with children/adolescents with mental illness, substance use, intellectual or developmental disabilities

    · Must possess excellent computer, communication, organization, interpersonal and leadership skills
