About the Role
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Sullivan County is seeking a compassionate and skilled Child and Adolescent Therapist to provide trauma-focused therapy to children who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse. This role also supports non-offending caregivers, promoting healing, education, and advocacy to reduce the risk of re-victimization.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver individualized, evidence-based therapy to child victims.
Build rapport with caregivers to support the child’s recovery.
Refer caregivers to additional support services as needed.
Assist families with the Victim Compensation Program.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
Submit grant-related data to the administrative team.
Advocate for children through court testimony and professional reports.
Represent the CAC in interagency collaborations and CPIT meetings.
Stay current with best practices in trauma treatment.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Active Tennessee licensure (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
Experience working with traumatized children and families.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in trauma-focused modalities (e.g., TF-CBT, Play Therapy, CPP, ARC, EMDR).
Strong understanding of child development, family systems, and abuse dynamics.
Crisis intervention and psychiatric emergency management.
Cultural competence and awareness of societal influences on children.
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
