The Learning Experience is looking for a dependable Childcare Center Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for our children while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

This is a great opportunity for someone with professional food preparation or kitchen experience who wants a consistent weekday schedule in a positive childcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and schedules

Follow appropriate portion sizes and meal requirements

Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen

Properly store, label, rotate, and monitor food and supplies

Follow food safety and sanitation procedures

Maintain awareness of children's food allergies and dietary restrictions

Distribute meals and snacks to classrooms

Wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment and food preparation areas

Monitor food and supply inventory and communicate ordering needs

Maintain required food service documentation

Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership

Follow Michigan childcare, health, sanitation, and food safety requirements

Qualifications

Previous professional cooking, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred

Experience preparing meals for children, schools, childcare programs, or group settings is a plus

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage practices

Food safety certification preferred

Dependable, organized, and able to work independently

Comfortable managing documented food allergies and dietary restrictions

Must meet applicable Michigan requirements for the position
