    Job Summary:

    Plan and direct operations of an assigned classroom to ensure Celebree mission, vision and values are upheld, and children are provided with a developmentally age-appropriate learning environment. Provide support and direction to the classroom assistant and aide.

    Responsibilities

    As a Lead Teacher, you will be given the tools, resources, and training to:

    Manage your assigned classroom to ensure compliance with all PA state regulations, company brand standards, policies and procedures

    Plan and implement developmentally, age-appropriate lesson plans in a safe, nurturing learning environment in accordance with the Celebree School curriculum; ensure that the activities of lesson plans are clearly delegated and communicated to all staff involved; maintain open and effective communication with teaching team members

    Provide a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, families and visitors; maintain attractive classroom/hallway displays and an educational parent board (that is updated regularly)

    Communicates effectively with caregivers, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings, update the daily report that provides caregivers with information about their child’s day

    Counsels children as needed using the Conscious Discipline framework and utilize appropriate behavior management techniques

    Performs face to name counts every 30 minutes

    Always maintains regular and satisfactory attendance, limits absences

    Attends all staff meetings, trainings and school events as required

    Provide support and direction to Aides/Floaters to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner

    Experience:

    Teaching: 2 years (Required)

    Childcare: 2-3 years (Required)

    License/Certification:

    Child Development Associate (Preferred)

    Associate's degree in human services field or 30 CEUs in early childhood development, special education, elementary education or human services (Required)

    Bachelor’s degree in human services field or early childhood education (Preferred)

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Specific Skills:

    Certification in CPR & First Aid. Computer skills, familiar with educational software and curriculum.
