    Family Overview

We are a busy family with three young children (ages 4.5, 2.5, and 1.5), and a baby due in March 2026. We have a wonderful full-time nanny who has been with us for 5 years and primarily works with the younger children while trying to support some of the additional load. As our family grows, we are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can assist with both household management and childcare.

Both parents have demanding careers and split time working from home and in office. Mom will be on maternity leave starting in the spring and hopes to transition into an entrepreneurial role when she returns.

Our oldest is in school most of the day (7:30-3:30) while our younger ones are in short morning programs. Next school year we will have three kids in three different school programs.

We are looking for a reliable, flexible, and caring family assistant who can support both the household and the children's development while maintaining strong boundaries and a calm presence.

    Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

    • Proactive : Can take the initiative and anticipate the family's needs.

    • Passionate about childcare : Truly enjoys being around children and is dedicated to supporting their developmental goals.

    • Firm & Patient: Comfortable setting positive and firm boundaries with the children while maintaining a loving and patient demeanor.

    • Flexible & Calm in Chaos: Able to thrive in a busy, dynamic environment.

    • Capable of Managing Multiple Children : Comfortable with being a point person on two children (ages 2.5 and 4.5) during the afternoons after school. Note: The existing nanny will lead care for the newborn and 1.5-year-old, while this role will focus on supporting the older boys. There may be limited times where this role will support three children.

    • Positive Influence : Enjoys working with young children and can help them reach developmental milestones.

    • Enjoys Cooking : Has a passion for preparing healthy, family-friendly meals and is comfortable with family meal prep.
Good Communicator : Able to collaborate effectively with parents and the nanny, and follow through with feedback.

    • Childcare & Household Balance: This role is designed to be a split between childcare (mainly afternoons with the 2.5 and 4.5-year-olds) and household support, including family meal prep and light household tasks.

    Role Overview

This role is designed to be a split between childcare, family meal prep, and household support. Approximately 50-60% of the time will be dedicated to childcare (primarily afternoons with the 2.5 and 4.5-year-old boys after school), while 40% will focus on meal prep for kids and adults, as well as laundry. The remaining 5% will be spent on other household management tasks, such as light tidying, inventory management, and assisting with seasonal transitions.

We're seeking an active self-starter who engages deeply with our energetic children while proactively managing household tasks. You'll handle tasks like meal prep and laundry with or without a list, ensuring the home runs smoothly so we can focus on family time. Success in this role means balancing hands-on childcare with a proactive approach to home management, helping us stay organized and present with our family.

You will work alongside the existing nanny, who will lead care for the newborn and 1.5-year-old, while you focus on supporting the older boys. The role will primarily involve leading and participating in their afternoon routines, engaging them in educational and fun activities, and helping with tasks like meal prep, laundry, and keeping the household running smoothly.
