    Children’s Center is located in Oregon City, Oregon and serves the children and families of Clackamas County. Our mission is to work with the community to end child abuse and neglect through assessment, treatment, and prevention. We have a vision of building a world where all children feel safe, valued, and heard.

    Children's Center has a job opening for a part time (20 hours per week) Development Coordinator.  Regular hours to be determined with the understanding that occasionally the schedule may vary to accommodate fundraising activities and event requirements.

    SALARY RANGE:  $16-18/hr. DOE

    SUMMARY

    The Development Coordinator plays a key role in our fund development efforts by supporting the administration of the development program; ensuring appropriate gift receipting; maintaining the donor database; supporting fundraising events, marketing activities, online and print appeals; and donor communications. This position also develops public relations and social media strategies and coordinates media and marketing efforts to promote Children’s Center’s mission and services. 

     GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Represent the mission, values and programs of Children’s Center in all facets of the position.
    • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    FUND DEVELOPMENT AND DONOR STEWARDSHIP

    • In collaboration with the Development Director, act as a point of contact for general donor inquiries.
    • Become proficient in, and act as, the key contact and trainer for Donor Perfect On-line database.
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency in all aspects of donor database information in a manner consistent with data integrity procedures, including detailed and accurate individual donor records.
    • Coordinate and provide logistics for individual appeal letters, thank you letters/donor receipts.
    • Create and produce routine and customized donor reports, as requested.
    • Support the Development Director in communicating with both established and new donors through multiple fundraising channels.
    • Provide support, if needed, for other activities and programs required to grow and maintain the agency’s annual fundraising goals.

    EVENT MANAGEMENT

    In collaboration with Development and Program Staff:

    • Support fundraising events with logistical planning, research, volunteer engagement, and event execution.
    • Act as lead staff person in the coordination of donated items and in working with related vendors.
    • Act as lead staff person in coordinating event communications and collaborate in the production of event collateral materials, event website, and promotion.

     

    MARKETING & COMMUNICATION

    • Track media and social media mentions.
    • Collect meaningful stories, content, images, videos, statistics, for use in presentations, social media, and collateral materials.

    SKILLS:

    • Ability to communicate in English effectively, including clarity of thought, and grammar, both verbally and in writing. Public speaking experience a plus but not required.
    • Ability to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Ability and willingness to work both independently and in collaboration with others.
    • Experience in or ability to learn CRM database management and other fundraising software.
    • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
    • Ability to: pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, problem solve, act with discretion, be gracious.

                                                                                                                                                                   

    EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION

    Associate Degree or two years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree and/or specific training in fundraising practices a plus.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS

    Valid Driver’s License - This role involves car travel. Access to motor vehicle, insurance, and ability to drive locally is required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to use a phone, see and use a computer, sit, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.      WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position operates in a professional clinical office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with moderate distractions.
