    The Children's Center of the Stanford Community (CCSC) has rare openings for dedicated, experienced early childhood professionals eager to work with children three years to 5 years old.

    We have a team teaching model and seek someone committed to ongoing professional growth and development.

    CCSC was established over 50 years ago on the beautiful campus of Stanford University as a parent-cooperative child care center. Our strength comes from the strong collaboration among parents, teachers, and the administrative staff dedicated to the well-being of children eight weeks to 5 years of age. We take a child-centered, hands-on approach to learning—drawing inspiration from the work of Magda Gerber, Piaget, Vygotsky, and the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, among others.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Work collaboratively with the team to supervise and implement developmentally appropriate experiences for the class according to the principles and philosophy of the school.

    Create a learning environment that provides for emotional, cognitive, social, and physical growth in children.

    Create a developmental portfolio for children and documentation for the classroom to reflect children's work.

    Build and nurture partnerships with parents, including parent communication and involvement as part of a parent cooperative

    QUALIFICATIONS

    AA or equivalent in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or any related field, BA preferred

    Fully qualified by California State Licensing regulations as a preschool teacher, minimum of 12 units

    Familiarity with emergent practices, play-based, child-centered environments, shared learning, scaffolding, and the Reggio Emilia approach

    Experience observing and documenting children's development

    Ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents in a cooperative environment

    Possess strong and practical communication skills with children, staff, and parents

    Interest in new products in the early childhood field

    Good organizational, writing, and technology skills (e.g., sending out emails, familiarity with MS Office)

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
