    Human Resources Manager

Children's Day School is a year-round, full-day high-quality preschool and early care and education school for infant and toddler children. We are a supportive, thriving community of caring educators and motivated learners.

    Children’s Day School is looking for a part-time (approx. 20 hours) HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This is a newly created position.

    Human Resources Manager Job Responsibilities:

    Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

    Works together with management to update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

    Maintain job posting sites with current hiring job postings. Reviews and selects candidates.

    Supports organization staff by recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; checking references and hiring employees; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.

    Prepares employees for assignments by conducting orientation and training programs.

    Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; employee hiring and termination; and counseling employees and supervisors.

    Work together with Business Manager to implement employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

    Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.

    Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

    Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource and organization policies and procedures.

    Fosters a team-like and positive working environment with all staff.

    Schedule:

    This is a part-time position (approx. 20 hours). Some weeks may be more/less hours depending on the week’s workload. Flexible schedule; 4-hour shifts. Some days the candidate will be required to work 7:30am – 11:30am or 2pm – 6pm shifts.

    Location:

    The candidate shall work three days a week at our Riverside campus and two days a week at our Glenville campus.

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resources in a related field or similar work experience required

    5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles

    5+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations

    5+ years of experience in a supervisory role

    PHR/SPHR certification preferred
