    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for all federal requirements in the area of Family, Parent and Community Engagement. Family and Community Engagement focuses on governance, parent involvement, including male involvement activities, family support services, transition services and partnerships with community agencies. Leads related outcomes and accountability, including supervision of Parent Partners, services, and programming.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for oversight and supervision of all Parent Partners, Parent Engagement services, including Parent Involvement and Governance.
    • Ensures on-going monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of Parent Engagement Services, including Governance, and Parent Partners.
    • Maintains record keeping and reporting systems, schedules, timelines, policies and procedures for Family/Parent and Community Engagement Services, including Governance in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Manages Parent Involvement activities including implementing a program for fathers and the assurance that parent site activities occur throughout the agency.
    • Supervise the process of shared decision making through the implementation of the Governance protocol and requirements.
    • Responsible for supervision, performance evaluation, scheduling, staff development, and processes related to Parent Partners.
    • Conducts ongoing staff meetings and trainings for parents and staff.
    • Prepare and update ongoing Family Engagement reports and plans consistent with Head Start Regulations.
    • Coordinate and conduct surveys related to parent concerns and program feedback in implementing quality parent engagement activities
    • Instrumental in coordination of effective communication system among program management, staff, parents and community to enhance services to children and families.
    • Responds to all Head Start and/or State preschool correspondence pertaining to Parent Engagement.
    • Attend and coordinate community meetings related to parent and program initiatives and effectiveness.

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Three or more years of managerial, supervisory experience.
    • Five or more years of experience in serving children and families in social services and Head Start governance, facilitating parent groups, conducting training, and navigating social service systems.
    • Bachelor's degree in social work, human development, family services or related field from a four-year university preferred.
    • Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.
    • Required to travel several times per month (25% to 50% of the time).
