    PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

    The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist will collaborate with all levels of management on a regular basis and will be responsible for attracting the right candidates using different sources from social media, job posting, job/career fairs, networking, etc. Responsible for managing Children’s Rescue Fund’s recruitment lifecycle and providing support in the delivery of all Agency human resources practices.  The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist will also manage and maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Partner with the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Recruitment and Retention Coordinator in the design and delivery of an effective staffing and recruitment strategy.

    2. Coordinate recruitment and hiring process for all job openings including collecting relevant documentation and correspondence, screening applications, arranging interviews, hiring events and job/career fairs.  

    3. Partner with hiring managers to develop appropriate recruiting strategy and process.

    4. Develop/revise/update job descriptions and other relevant documents.   

    5. Partner with Human Resources Recruitment and Retention Coordinator in developing, implementing cost effective proactive sourcing strategies to attract top talent.  

    6. Work in conjunction with our IT team to attract talent through social media channels and LinkedIn Recruiter.

    7. Screen resumes and conduct telephone, virtual and face-to-face interviews, as well as set-up 2nd interviews for hiring manager(s).   

    8. Contact applicants and maintain all relevant documentation and correspondence.

    9. Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references, comparing qualifications to job requirements.

     10.  Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and qualifications with hiring manager(s); interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.

     11. Conduct sensitive background checks in accordance with Federal, State, and local government and Agency contract compliance as required.

     12.   Responsible for finalizing the offer process; manage the acceptance and turndowns of all candidates.

     13.  Work with hiring manager(s) and the Human Resources Team for seamless onboarding of new staff.  

     14.   Data-entry of all new hires into HRIS and into benefit portals (health, dental & vision).

     15.  Update weekly vacancy report on recruitment efforts to track sources, background process, positions filled and positions open to improve recruitment efforts.  

     15.   Perform exit interviews with departing staff, track departure reasons and incorporate results into recruitment needs as appropriate.

     16.   Responsible for updating Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) report

     17.  Any additional duties and activities and designated by the Director of Human Resources.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:  Associate Degree with equivalent work experience within non-profit in the Recruitment and/or Human Resources field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:   Proven 2-3 years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility as a recruiter evidenced by a professional portfolio of accomplishment in the field. Considerable knowledge and experience with sourcing, interviewing techniques, and candidate assessments. Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities with strong follow-up skills. Must possess solid knowledge of all Federal, State, and local laws regarding employment practices; EEO compliance.   High level of experience and comfort working within applicant tracking and HRIS systems. General knowledge of HR best practices and employment law, highly preferred

    prior recruiting experience in non-profit. Excellent communication written and verbal skills; MS office.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDING PHYSICAL DEMANDS)

    May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule.

    Travelling throughout various locations in the New York City area.
