    Title: Outreach Associate Reports to: Sr. Communications Manager and Chief Program Officer Status: Part-time Pay Rate: $15-$17 per hour commensurate with experience Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours per week, nights and weekends from September-End of February About Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately funded organization whose mission is to provide students from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade tuition-based schools, thereby increasing the long-term economic and social success of their children. CSFP grants four-year, need-based partial scholarships via random lottery. With a nearly $13M operating budget, last year, CSFP raised and awarded $10 million from private donors (individuals, foundations, and companies). CSFP currently serves more than 5,800 children enrolled at over 160 private and parochial schools. About the position The Outreach Associate will play an important role in promoting CSFP's scholarship application to Philadelphia families. Responsibilities will include representing CSFP at community events, distributing flyers, sharing information with Philadelphia community hubs (e.g. recreation centers, libraries, daycare/preschool centers), and supporting various grassroots community outreach efforts with the goal to encourage eligible families to apply for a CSFP scholarship. This role requires an individual to be available on nights and most weekends to attend events and distribute flyers. It is recommended that applicants have their own form of transportation. Expectations, Roles, and Responsibilities - Identify opportunities to attend community events on behalf of CSFP and develop a strategy and timeline for implementation - Staff community events to share information about CSFP's K-8 scholarship program and application - Distribute flyers and other marketing collateral to designated community hubs in target regions throughout Philadelphia - Respond to CSFP staff inquiries within 24 hours (unless prior arrangements made) - Foster positive relationships within the Philadelphia community and represent CSFP professionally and accurately - Attend CSFP office hours/weekly check-ins - Track hours and document work within Insperity timesheet on a regular basis - Other duties as assigned Position requirements While no one candidate will possess every quality outlined for this position, a successful candidate will bring many of the following qualifications and personal attributes: - Experience with the CSFP scholarship program is a plus - A highly motivated self-starter who can work well independently as well as on a team - At least one year of experience in a public-facing role (e.g. community outreach, customer service, nonprofit organization) - Experience working with diverse populations and under-resourced communities - Effective communication skills for diverse audiences - High level of organization and attention to detail - Outgoing and approachable-willing to approach community members at tabling events to share information - Passionate about educational opportunities for all Philadelphia students - Competency with basic computer functions like email and Microsoft Office programs - Spanish fluency-preferred but not required Work environment/physical requirements - Certain abilities to physically perform the duties are required, such as: - Must be able to travel; valid driver's license and/or access to transportation when necessary are required. Travel reimbursement will be provided. - Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a chair, either at a computer or community event. - Must be able to assist with events, which includes lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing and standing. - This is a primarily remote role.
