Job Summary
The Chimney Field Technician Manager oversees the quality, efficiency, and safety of all chimney services, including cleanings, inspections, and repairs, and installs. This role combines hands-on technical work with field leadership, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety and code standards. The ideal candidate has extensive chimney service experience, leads by example, and is eager to learn, coachable, and detail-oriented to elevate team performance and drive repair revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Field Oversight & Quality Control: Conduct job site inspections, support technicians, and ensure chimney services (cleanings, inspections, repairs) meet safety, code, and company standards. Troubleshoot technical issues and review job documentation (photos, notes, estimates) for accuracy and completeness.
Team Leadership & Training: Coach and train chimney technicians on best practices, safety, safety protocols, and customer communication. Perform ride-alongs, provide hands-on training for new hires and underperforming technicians, manage daily job flow, and conduct performance reviews to drive improvement.
Sales Support scheduling Support & Upselling: Train technicians to identify and present repair opportunities during inspections, ensuring proper documentation of estimates and photos. Track upsell opportunities, close rates, rates, and assist in closing large repair jobs as needed.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce ladder safety, roof safety, safety protocols, and job site protocols, verify proper equipment use and maintenance, and ensure compliance with NFPA 211 and relevant state/local codes and internal standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Expert knowledge of chimney cleaning, inspections, and repairs (required).
Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and train field teams (required).
Exceptional attention to detail in service execution, documentation, documentation, and quality control (required).
Eager, coachable, and adaptable with a commitment to improving team performance.
Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
Experience managing field teams or coordinating job schedules.
Safety-minded with a focus on compliance and detail-oriented approach.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required).
CSIA certification is a strong plus (or willingness to obtain).
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on chimney service experience, including cleanings, repairs, and inspections (required).
Prior field leadership or crew management experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
Ability to reliably commute to our office in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Availability to work full-time hours.
Comfortable with physical labor and field-based work.
No special certifications or licenses required, but CSIA certification is a plus.
Compensation
Pay Structure: Commission-based with a bonus structure tied to team performance and job quality, with an estimated total compensation package of $75,000–$150,000 annually.
Bonuses: Performance bonuses based on team efficiency, job quality, and repair revenue growth.
