Community Manager & Social Media Evangelist
We are looking for a driven, proactive and service minded Community Manager and Social Media Evangelist to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our Digital team to strengthen our Social Media presence by identifying latest digital trends and develop our communities in order to get more people talking about and ultimately buy Chiquita bananas.
You will work on key marketing digital projects, working with internal teams and external agencies. As a key member of the team, you will primarily develop the Chiquita Community in order to create loyal audiences, improve current performance and advise on future digital trends. The position will be based in North America with direct report to Global Marketing & Community Lead and linked to North America Marketing Manager.
The Position
The purpose of this role is to assist us to achieve our marketing ambition by building communities around the brand while supporting us to build the importance of Social Media.
Develop the Chiquita Community:
Build up the Chiquita community by developing strong channel branding and online presence
Establish new and maintain existing social media relationships by proactively engaging in discussions surrounding our content, products, and brand
Create relevant and engaging content for the community in social media platforms
Monitor constantly all social media outlets: pages, sites, blogs, etc. on daily basis and post/respond on particular topics or in response to other posts/comments
Track key social media influencers of interest and classify them based on content and visibility/credibility; interact with key ambassadors and engage with them on a long-term basis
Convey a sense of community and build our following based on valuable content and mutual sharing
Improve current performance:
Analyze social media metrics for the improvement of brand engagement and loyalty for our community
Use creative means to drive stronger engagement and organic growth of all social media properties
Understand the market competitors’ activities and industry trends to develop and implement a high growth strategy
Recommend and apply relevant social media techniques, processes and tools to improve overall results and efficiency
Prepare and share regular performance reports about Chiquita Social Media activities under management
Advise on future digital trends:
Provide insights on new relevant digital trends, by recommending new social media tools, sites, and apps as part of the social media mix
Recommend way to move forward the digital strategy for Chiquita
Contribute to and regularly update external social sites: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant community sites
Key Competencies
Bachelor or higher degree desired
Minimum 5 years of experience in the digital environment as Community Manager or Social Media Specialist
Communication skills (verbal and written) a must
Strong copywriting skills: passionate about writing articles, blogs, newsletters, marketing and business proposals.
Graphic design experience a plus
Organized, good planning skills, able to work with little supervision
Able to manage multiple projects, events and priorities simultaneously
Computer savvy with expertise in MS Office, Internet & Outlook environment
Spanish desired
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to deliver positive results in a team working environment with a diverse group of internal and external customers

To be successful in this role, we believe you have a degree in marketing and have already gathered first experience in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods company, preferably with fresh products.
