We are looking for an upbeat, energetic, experienced, medical biller /collector to join our growing office. ChiroCare of Florida is a group of injury & wellness centers headquartered in beautiful Pompano Beach. We are a busy, fast-paced office experiencing high growth and looking for the right person to join our team!
Experience in medical billing is required and prior experience with Dr. Chrono EHR software is preferred, but not mandatory. Must be team oriented and excited to contribute to a growing company.
Responsibilities
Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
Applies payments and adjustments to patient accounts
Follow up with insurance payers for processing of appeals and errors
Maintain current understanding of applicable coding guidelines, state and federal regulations, and managed care guidelines
Meet productivity and quality assurance benchmarks
Responsible for resolution and appropriate refunding of credit balances, denied claims, and charges on hold. Includes working credit balance reports as needed
Review explanations of benefits for correct adjudication and payment according to applicable managed care contract terms and reimbursement
Review of unpaid claims, researching denials and/or lack of activity to ensure timely payment and maintain cash flow
Work with other team members to ensure projects are initiated & implemented according to expectations
Aid Billing Manager in any financial or invoicing reports
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
3 - 5 years’ experience in health-care billing & collection practices
Experience working with medical payers including Medicare, and commercial insurance,
Working knowledge of medical billing systems
Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 & ICD-10 coding systems; Coding certification preferred,
An Associate Degree from an accredited university with credentials in billing / coding preferred,
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

This is an onsite position.
Salary - $20 - $22 hourly, plus bonus eligibility.
