  • Responsibilities

    The Choate Rosemary Hall Summer Administrative Intern Program offers 6 college students a rewarding opportunity to work in an intellectually stimulating and supportive academic community from June 20, 2022 to July 31, 2022.  Administrative Interns report to the Summer Programs Office Coordinator and the Director of Student Activities. 

    These positions work before and after students arrive for set up and wrap up tasks, as well during the program. Responsibilities include: 

     

    BEFORE SUMMER PROGRAMS BEGIN

    • Provide assistance to Summer Programs Office and Student Activities Center (SAC) with projects related to the arrival of teaching interns, faculty, and students
    • Ensure that all dormitories are prepared for students and faculty
    • Provide assistance with registration and orientation  
    • Assist SAC with airport transportation information and student pick-up

     

    DURING SUMMER PROGRAMS

    • Live in a student dormitory and share advising and supervisory responsibilities with other interns and a veteran house adviser 
    • Serve as the faculty adviser for 8 -10 advisees; write adviser reports on each advisee
    • Help monitor Study Halls during the class day  
    • Coach middle school and high school sports in the afternoons
    • Chaperone SAC trips and on-campus activities
    • Chaperone buses to and from airports at the beginning and end of program sessions
    • If working in the Summer Programs Office, help with coverage of Summer Programs office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM 
    • If working in the SAC, help with coverage of SAC office hours during the week from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and as needed on the weekends. 
    • Assist with SAC trip sign-up, including promotion of trips at School Meetings  
    • Maintain paper supplies for various offices on campus
    • Additional duties and projects as assigned

     

    AFTER SUMMER PROGRAMS

    • Assist deans and heads of house in completing room inventory sheets and recording any damages
    • Assist the SAC staff with the departure of all residential students, including chaperoning airport shuttles
    • Assist the SAC staff with dorm clean up after students depart
    • Assist Summer Programs staff in routine duties at end of program
