Job Description
Our client in the Aerospace industry, a full-service engineering and manufacturing company located in Hauppauge, NY, is actively seeking an experienced Buyer for their Purchasing Department.

Duties:

• Provide support to engineering and manufacturing departments for the procurement of simple to complex structures, encompassing both metal and composites.
• Conduct effective negotiations with new and existing suppliers to secure advantageous pricing, reliable delivery, and optimal benefits for internal operations.
• Ensure vendors have all the necessary information to meet production schedules.
• Collaborate closely with production to address material flow issues and meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Identify available inventory and assess the need for repurchasing.
• Navigate and utilize company databases, including the existing ERP system.
• Conduct meetings and visits to supplier facilities to assess manufacturing capabilities, equipment, and capacity.

Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing purchasing.
• Experience in aerospace purchasing is a plus.
