    ABOUT THE ROLE: Our strong Finance and Accounting Team is looking for a Junior Financial Analyst. The Junior Financial Analyst oversees the Retail arm of our business, as well as our Canadian and Mexican entities. Additionally, this role partners with operations, sales, and R&D to ensure a constant flow of communication between finance and the revenue generators. The purpose of the role is to combine analytical work and communication to help create our monthly board pack and prepare month end, quarter end, and year end close.

    Chosen Foods has hundreds of SKU's, spanning across sizes and flavors. Part of the responsibilities of this role is to support the integrity of the standard costs of these SKU's and perform monthly variance analysis. Moreover, this role will be responsible for the excel forecast model accuracy for Canada and Mexico. This requires updating the actuals, partnering with the accounting team as necessary, updating the quarterly expense budgets, and updating monthly sales forecast.

    This role is based at the Chosen Foods Headquarters in San Diego and reports to the Financial Analyst.

    The essential functions related to this interesting position will focus on:

    • Update and 'own' Canada & Mexico FC Models, work with accounting to ensure a smooth month end close and capture all spends in the corresponding month and forecast accordingly.
    • Work with the sales team and provide analysis to support their commentary on forecast and actuals.
    • Variance analysis Revenue, Expenditure, Price, Cost, Sales by Business Unit and Product Category.
    • Maintain sales forecasts, be the finance 'go to' person for any sales related questions and maintain the retail P&L in the Forecast Model.
    • Help prepare the month end board pack, with attention to detail and formatting, and understand the numbers to provide analysis for data driven decisions made at the management level.
    • Support Finance Analyst in the migration to our new EPR system (SAP S4Hana).
    • Attend sales meetings, attend meetings with external consultants, communicate certain aspects of the business with our parent company by providing timely and accurate data.

    In addition this role will multitask through different responsibilities and support the integrity of the trade spend to align our promotions with our revenue. This will include reviewing monthly accruals and communicating the nature of our trade spend to the business.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's in finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
    • 2+ years experience in Financial Reporting
    • Advanced excel, large data set experience
    • Experience with inventory & experience with ERP a plus

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Able to work independently and take initiative
    • Able to adapt to changing priorities
    • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
    • Detail-oriented
    • Proficient with Excel - must be able to create and edit complex financial formulas
    • The ability to be proactive, think creatively, and work in a team environment
    • Must love avocados!
