  • Responsibilities

    As Controller, you will be responsible for the management of the financial status of the organization, Responsible for the establishment of all accounting department operations/procedures/compliance and management of the accounting department team.
    Industry: Retail /Wholesale Luxury Beddings

     What you will do:

    • Develops and executes accounting control procedures and processes.
    • Works closely with external CPA and IRS auditors to ensure compliance of regulatory requirements.
    • Works closely with financial institutes to maintain a stable financial position and cash flow. Negotiates with financial institutes on bank rates for loans and business accounts, financing terms, and equity line options.
    • Oversees accounting team to ensure best practice for legal accounting recordkeeping requirements.
    • Directs accounting team in the preparation of complete, true and accurate reports in accordance with applicable accounting principles.
    • Prepares weekly sales, inventory, and production reports along with monthly financial statements for management review.
    • Responsible for assuring bi-weekly payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Oversees accounting staff in tasks such as bank and account reconciliations, processing of vendor and customer invoices, and processing of vendor payments including domestic and international wire payments.
    • Compiles, interprets and analyzes company financial reports and ad hoc reports for management.
    • Monitors company cash flow by overseeing deposits, payment reconciliations and cash management.
    • Selects, hires, trains and supervises accounting team to accomplish set projects and goals.
    • Monitors accounting team performance and conducts 90 day and annual reviews.
    • Conducts any disciplinary action when needed.

    What you will need: 

    • BS Degree in Accounting and at least three years of experience in the accounting field.
    • Strong leadership skills and coaching skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and follow-up.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Ability to establish and maintain excellent customer/vendor relationships.
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
