  • Responsibilities

    As the Senior Controller, you will oversee all accounting and financial operations, provide leadership and focus on all financial functions, to ensure they operate efficiently and are in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. This hands-on, roll-up your sleeves role, will provide insights and observations to influence effectiveness and provide a big picture view, connecting all financial pieces of our multi-entity company.

    What. you will do:

    • Manages all aspects of accounting function including accounts receivable and accounts payable
    • Drive the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process
    • Responsible for financial statements, budgeting, tax filing, and insurance
    • Provide financial advice to leadership on issues of major significance that may impact current and future business and the Company's profitability and reputation
    • Generates monthly reports including accounts payable reconciliation, accounts receivable reconciliation, cash flow report, and balance sheet audits
    • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
    • Recommend investment strategies and advise on capital allocation to ensure the company is allocating funds to the highest value areas
    • Control and evaluate the organization's fundraising plans
    • Setup appropriate accounting practices for reporting on company financial performance, especially in driving proper managerial accounting across the company's various business lines
    • Work closely with company auditors on accounting practices and oversee the annual audit
    • Work with external legal advisors, and ensure compliance
    • Manage tax reporting and tax management, including industry-specific tax challenges
    • Conduct hard close for each month-end and provide standard reporting package in a timely fashion
    • Perform month-end cost accounting and inventory reconciliation
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirement
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO

    What you will need:

    • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a hands-on Controller
    • Experience as a Controller at a fast-growing, multi-faceted company
    • Experience working in complex operations in a multi-entity company
    • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
    • Experience building financial models from the ground up
    • Must have an understanding of knowing where the gaps are within the organization as a whole as well as within the individual businesses that make up the organization
    • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
    • Ability to create and manage budgets
    • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Sheets
    • Strong working knowledge of Sage Intacct
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to build relationships and interact with all levels and departments within the organization
    • Strong attention to detail
    • BS/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field
    • CPA required
