    Job Description

    DIGITAL STRATEGIST 

    PURPOSE:

    The Digital Strategist will amplify Christ Church’s vision of leveraging digital technology to share the Gospel and grow God’s kingdom under the direction of Executive Director of Worship Arts and Communications. This position will contribute to setting and executing a digital strategy; working with a team of staff and volunteers to implement and execute content that is impactful and engaging. This role requires a clear and enthusiastic understanding of the Christ Church mission, vision, values, and culture and commitment to move people to greater levels of engagement, expanding our reach into the community. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Serve as the primary lead for conceptualizing, creating, implementing, maintaining, and coordinating all digital content for website, e-comm platforms, and social media channels
    • Ensure brand consistency on digital platforms
    • Work collaboratively with engagement and formation ministry teams to introduce people to Christ Church and move them to ongoing engagement
    • Help create and execute digital marketing/advertising through existing outlets and new outlets as they develop
    • Promote existing digital resources (sermons, podcasts etc.) and work with staff and volunteers to create new resources

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    MINISTRY OVERVIEW

    • Unify digital communications across all campuses
    • Oversee the preparation and execution of online chat for weekend services
    • Oversee and assist in the creation, curation and management of all published content
    • Build and lead volunteer teams to assist and execute digital strategy (i.e. online host, writers, photographers)
    • Collect and analyze all digital trends, insights and metrics 
    • Work alongside the Executive Director of Worship Arts and Communication to build a podcast network
    • Additional duties as assigned and needed within the Communications ministry

    • Support and model individual spiritual formation i.e. Worship, Grow and Serve. (Weekly worship, prayer, Scripture reading, small group, volunteering/service, etc.).

    SKILLS AND TALENTS

    • High level understanding and passion for digital content

    • Strategic thinker with the ability to envision, develop systems and processes, implement and drive projects and strategies through to completion

    • Ability to develop and contribute to a large-scale vision, as well as being hands on, and enjoys doing and  achieving day-today tasks

    • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision; teamwork orientation with strong relationship management skills

    • Ability to use Google Analytics and other Web analytic tools to measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals

    • Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of work quality and attention to detail

    • Knowledge of digital media and marketing automation platforms

    • Have a solid understanding of effective marketing communications practices

    • Ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions

    • Ability to work independently and be proactive in searching for solutions

    • Creative and innovative 

    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

     

     ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, communications or related field (or equal years of professional experience)
    • A minimum of 3–5 year’s experience in digital marketing, communications fields or advertising with demonstrated experience in planning and executing all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, and social media
    • Prefer experience in leading staff and/or volunteers
    • Experience in a large church or nonprofit organization a plus
