    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC

    LOCATION: 1650 N. Neltor Blvd, West Chicago IL, 60185

    HIgh traffic intersection of Rt 59 and IL-64.

    AS AN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC AT CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform a wide range of automotive repairs, relying on your deep experience with diagnostics and scan tool usage.

    • Review TSB's and other service recommendations and translate to customer needs.

    • Honestly assess vehicles and build a detailed estimate of necessary repairs.

    • Communicate cause and correction for customer concerns regarding their vehicle.

    • Address any concerns from customers and interface with them on their vehicle as needed.

    • Maintain professionalism.

    • Keep shop in clean, working order.

    Qualifications

    • Positive (YES I CAN GET 'R DONE) attitude. 

    • Desire to serve customers and community members.

    • Capable of servicing all makes/models of vehicles.

    • Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.

    • Experience with all makes and models.

    • Experience with OEM level scan tools and programming processes.

    • Extensive cabinet of tools to perform maintenance and service work as described.

    • Current/valid IL driver’s License.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • High school/Tech school or equivalent diploma.

    • 4+ years automotive service experience.

    • Factory/dealer training certification status

    • ASE certification is a major plus, or a plan to achieve while working in our business.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS DESCRIBED HERE ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE THAT MUST BE MET BY ANY APPLICANT IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB. WHILE PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF THIS JOB, THE AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN MUST:

    • Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds

    • Regularly lift and/or move 15-35 pounds such as brake rotors, tires, etc.

    • Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.

    • Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.

    • Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools.

    • Walk/stand for the majority of the workday.

    • Drive manual transmission vehicles.

    • Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.

    • Efficiently navigate a computer.
