  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Business Office Liaison is responsible for:

    NEW ADMISSIONS:

    1. Initiates contact with residents and responsible parties on admission day to obtain copies of insurance cards; contacts family to obtain if copies are not in admission packets.
    2. Explains and provides on-going updates on insurance coverage information and billing process
    3. Obtains insurance authorization, verification, and precertification.
    4. Adds Funding Coverages.
    5. Enters all Outpatient therapy demographics and insurance information.
    6. Manages and maintains resident files and records.

    ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:

    1. Collects payments.
    2. Completes daily deposits and cash journal.
    3. Manages petty cash.
    4. Verifies statements from Medical Vendors for correctness, code, and forwards to A/P.
    5. Reviews aging for credit balances.
    6. Provides insurance information to ancillary providers.
    7. Enters Ancillary charges in Vision (Lab, X-ray, pharmacy, transportation, etc.)
    8. Responds to vendor inquiries; analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors.
    9. Completes and forwards invoices to CBO staff and A/P.

    RESIDENT TRUST ACCOUNT:

    1. Sets up RTA in Vision for new residents.
    2. Assists residents with their personal spending accounts; makes deposits, provides cash withdrawals or writes checks.
    3. Ensures posting to accounts and reconciles monthly.
    4. Enters Hair Care and Television Charges into Vision.
    5. Informs beautician of account status weekly.

    MEDICAID TRACKING:

    1. Sends requests to Social Security to move the direct deposit to Christian Care.
    2. Completes forms for CCC in order to become responsible payee.

    MISCELLANEOUS

    1. Attends morning meetings to obtain and/or give updates.
    2. Oversees the maintenance and operation of business office equipment to include fax machines, copiers, and postage machine.
    3. Covers breaks and lunch for receptionist.
    4. Assist Administrator as needed.
    5. Reviews correspondence as receives and forwards to appropriate department if needed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Education:               High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    Preferred Education:               Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting

    Required Experience:             1 year administrative/clerical/accounting experience

    Preferred Experience:             2 years’ experience in billing or accounting in health care; insurance transactions and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement systems
