  • Responsibilities

    Advise and counsel clients on food and nutrition. Explain nutrition issues to clients, assess the dietary and health needs of clients, develop meal plans for clients, gauge the effects of these meal plans, promote nutrition through public speaking and community outreach programs, and keep abreast of the latest research in nutritional and food sciences. Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Provide medical nutrition therapy based on the application of scientific nutritional principles and in accordance with the Chrysalis Center standard of client care. • Conduct nutritional assessments utilizing Chrysalis Center’s intake protocol and develop a treatment plan for any new client. • Develop and implement a plan of care based on an assessment of nutritional needs and available resources, and correlate the plan with other healthcare professionals. • Provide information collaboratively in treatment plans for facility clients when needed (Facility Staff only). • Instruct clients about meal plans and dietary changes and establish goals and objectives to help meet the plan. • Create materials for and facilitate groups focused on nutritional education, nutritional support, or meal support. • Document in the medical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies. • Develop and maintain counseling rapport with clients. • Show evidence of client engagement in clinical schedule and retention. • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning. • Engage in consultation with all members of the team. • Collaborate in meal planning for onsite meal schedule and offsite restaurant challenges (Facility Staff only). • Participate in monthly case staffing meetings. • Submit weekly and monthly schedules, timesheets, and case management to the appropriate manager. • Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA standards, and client rights at all times. • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Chrysalis Center’s mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, and codes of ethical behaviors. • Perform other duties as instructed by management. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK • Varies for Full Time and Part Time clinicians. Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Fridays 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree in a nutrition program that includes an accredited dietetic internship. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Two year’s post-graduate experience in medical nutrition therapy • Preference is given to those with training in treating eating disorders ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS • State License or registration to meet the requirements of a qualified dietetic technician, registered dietician, or licensed nutritionist. WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE • Proof of authorization to work in the U.S. by I-9 verification. Subject to Criminal Background Check and NC Healthcare Personnel Registry check per Mental Health Licensures rules by NC State DHSR.
