    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    Under direction of Sr. Director of Finance, Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for developing/maintaining Plant Finished Goods Standard Cost, supporting period end financial reporting and variance analysis, assisting with annual operating and capital budgets preparations and reviews, Quarterly business forecast, business systems support and ad hoc analysis for operations management. Position requires strong business acumen, good understanding of plant operations and excellent competency in advanced Excel, power pivot tables and BI tools.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

     

    • Develop true standard cost accounting system for 3 manufacturing plants using activity-based costing for finished goods manufactured.
    • Maintain Packaging Materials Bills of Materials file and Vegetable Raw Materials Recipe file to establish Finished Goods Material standard cost.
    • Establish packaging materials and vegetable raw materials yield factors to use into Finished Goods standard cost.
    • Develop Packaging Materials delivered standard cost working with purchasing department.
    • Develop Veg raw material landed cost working with Ag Accounting department.
    • Establish work center file defining the capacity and staffing requirements of plant.
    • Develop Manning Tables defining the direct labor staffing configuration for each work center by using appropriate labor rates, vacation, absenteeism, training, meeting, temp labor and overtime assumptions.
    • Develop routing file that will take each F/G SKU thru each applicable work center using the effective thru put rates and applicable labor machine hour rate.
    • Develop Overhead Machine Hour rate to absorb Variable and Fixed overhead cost at plant /work center level based on the estimated amount of resources consumed by each work center.
    • Perform SKU Rationalization along with Customer Rationalization to expand the profit margins.
    • Participate in development of annual plant spending budgets and Quarterly forecast to track and help achieve Division’s operating profit goal.
    • Assist with annual physical inventories at year end to true up perpetual inventories with Ledger in system.
    • Assist with Capital Expenditure Budget and facilitate effective use of capital at plant operations.
    • Assist with period end financial analysis, variance explanations and preparing reporting deck to Corporate.
    • Promotes teamwork among accounting staff to ensure work is performed in a collaborative manner and standards for excellent customer service are achieved.
    • Maintains effective communication with all management staff to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing company goals. Gathers and disseminates information to all areas/departments regarding policy and procedures changes, and other important issues involving assigned areas.

    Required Skills

     

    SKILLS:

     

    • Recent experience at a plant or operating unit of a consumer products company with monthly reporting responsibilities to a division or corporate office
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Expertise in designing / developing data queries and reports to extract data from System.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the desire to be the team leader as well as team player at times.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management.
    • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to details to drive results.

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

     

    • Minimum 2-5 years of directly related experience in multi plant manufacturing environment in Ag or related industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
