JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the guidance of the Controller, is responsible for the direct oversight of the internal controls development and maintenance for Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. Conducts a variety of audits to maintain and enhance the internal controls environment of the operation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates latest federal, state, and tribal regulatory requirements to casino management.
- Works closely with departments to develop internal controls and policies to comply with respective requirements.
- Understands existing internal controls and document flow with respect to each department functionality.
- Differentiates and understands Operational vs. Regulatory issues affecting the enterprise, resolving differences in a timely manner.
- Maintains a firm comprehension of regulatory documents as applicable to the gaming operation.
- Maintains an internal control system that meets regulatory compliance and assists with achieving the Company's strategic goals.
- Understands the internal and external audit functions and works closely with internal and external auditors, providing the auditors with assistance as needed with internal control explanations.
- Assists in resolving issues of non-compliance as needed within the organization.
- Researches and issues opinions/recommendations on regulatory interpretations as requested by casino management.
- Strives to ensure consistency and communicates chain of command.
- Maintains all new and revised internal control documents, keeping track of changes.
- Performs audits of all electronic key control systems and all other audits as directed.
- Keeps audit work papers related to sensitive keys, locks and parts inventories.
- Prepares reports as directed showing detailed summaries of electronic key control system audits, audits of lock interrogations, employee audits, Galaxy Access Control System audits, etc.
- Maintains accurate records and complies with all Casino, Tribal Gaming Commission, and NIGC requirements, policies, procedures, and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma / GED required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Must have established ability to interpret Gaming Regulations (federal, state, and tribal). Must have working experience in applying/integrating such requirements into the system of internal controls.
Must be proficient in the use of the computer using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
