    SUMMARY:

           

    Responsible for the clerical administration of CGRC's leaves of absences and benefits programs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members.  Performs excellent customer service at all times.

    • Conducts professional and empathetic consultations with Team Members regarding various leave programs to determine which, if any, are appropriate and available.

    • Coordinates leaves of absence case administration to include review and approval of Team Member requests, physicians' certifications, support documents, work history; and performs data entry to HRIS.

    • Informs and advises Team Members, department leaders, and HR colleagues on leave of absence policies.

    • Maintains frequent and effective communications (written and oral) with Team Members and department leaders regarding leaves of absence requests, approvals, and status.

    • Provides timely follow-up with Team Members and department leaders regarding Team Member returns from leaves to include review and acceptance of physicians' notes clearing Team Member for duty, processing of appropriate documents to reactive Team Member for employment, communication with necessary departments to provide for smooth re-entry to the workplace.

    • Performs data entry of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance enrollment information into the benefits data system.

    • Coordinates, organizes, and maintains all medical information and files in orderly manner compliant with CGRC and HIPAA guidelines.

    • Processes court-ordered benefits directives and coordinates same with payroll department.

    • Conducts compliance reviews of all physicians' notes excusing absences as submitted by Team Members.

    • Assists with hosting Team Member events, including but not limited to: annual blood drive, open enrollment, job fairs, recognition events, etc.

    • Assists with preparing utilization reports of Team Member benefits and leaves programs.

    • Maintains current knowledge of policies, practices, and legislations regarding leaves of absences and benefits programs.

    • May assist &/or provide temporary coverage to other specialty areas in HR (training, recruiting, team relations, or administration).

    • Performs any reasonable request made by management, including but not limited to ushering and ticket processing for CGRC events.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High School diploma/GED with one year of experience in leaves of absences administration with a mid to large sized company preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.  Union experience preferred.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bilingual Spanish is preferred. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Must have strong working knowledge of regulations pertaining to leaves of absence.  Ability to interact with a wide variety of people using tact, discretion, and diplomacy.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents.  Ability to create & write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

                    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

                    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to resolve problems in a manner consistent with CGRC's policies.     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear.  The Team Member frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The Team Member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  When on the casino floor, the Team Member will be exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
