    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for generating leads, qualifying clients, establishing lasting relationships, close deals, selling services and experiences of the resort and its surroundings to our retail clients.

    Meetings and Sales Specialist is in charge to administer all groups, and drive retail sales revenue from group clients according to resort sales goals and objectives.

    Must excel in generating leads, yielding excess capacity.

    ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following:

    • Proactively seeks high value best-fit new clients and markets.

    • Drives incremental business for excess capacity according to department goals and objectives.

    • Understands client profile and expectations, filter in best-fit clients, prepare thorough proposals, work through details, close the deal, sign contracts,

    • Exploit excess capacity to create value for clients and increase profits for the resort.

    • Sell all aspects of the company products and services to maximize collective success and client satisfaction even though it may not directly influence individual sales goals or commissions.

    • Negotiate terms and rates, prepare and present proposal, sign contract and close the deal.

    • As typical of the hospitality division, this position may be asked to assist, cover or take charge in any area of hospitality division operations, limited to manager to front line positions, when necessary to deliver superior service and safety we strive to achieve.

    • Resolves client complaints, and other issues that may interfere with the efficiency of the group sales operations.

    • Regularly communicate and follow through with key departments and client to stay on target.

    • Understands gaming value, client lifetime worth, seasonality, demand extremes to make good booking, pricing and yielding decisions.

    • Participates in Group Sales strategy development (goals setting, marketing, yielding, packaging, pricing etc. discussions and implementation).

    • Helps develop sales kits, print and digital marketing materials and strategies.

    • Helps prepare, fine tune and execute annual business plan, and budget.

    • Collaborates with all revenue generating and support departments to meet and exceed client expectations.

    • Meets contractual obligations, and ensure four diamond superior level service is delivered.

    • Maintains and communicates client information, booking details to all relevant departments.

    • Invoices, tracks, collects, and reports payments.

    • Analyzes monthly financial sales statements, revenue and expense data.

    • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly forecasts and reports, and cost benefit analysis.

    MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Represent the property in a professional manner and carries all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include managing client relations, event planning and contract, monitoring event activities, collaborate with involved departments for success, prepare and analyze reports, assist and support other departments in the division. Improve understanding, effectiveness and performance of the division.

    • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly reports.
    • Participate in strategic planning, P&L and Budget review.
    • Able to connect and quickly build rapport with diverse group of clients.
    • Relate, adapt, and connect with clients without sacrificing from company core values.
    • Non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) may be necessary of this position.
    • Manages time and resources effectively.
    • Successfully prioritizes tasks to get results.

    QUALFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Associates degree from an accredited two-year college or three years or more related experience in sales, marketing, hospitality meetings & sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent negotiation, contract writing, and conflict resolution skills. Able to evaluate new clients for value, risk and liability. Proficient with computers, smart phones, remote work apps and Micro Office Suite. Familiar with PMS (Opera preferred), CRM and other hospitality and group sales software. Must have CA driver's license. Must have a good driving record and possess own vehicle for business travel.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, contracts and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, vendors, team members or public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, decimals, and percentages e.g. commissions etc. Reads and understands financial reports and statements within the hospitality and casino business environment.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables. Presents convincing arguments to which persuade others.
