East Austin nonprofit Chula League’s 18th Annual Cherrywood Art Fair, to be held on December 7 & 8, 2019, is looking for an experienced Community Groups Coordinator to handle community group outreach.
We need a team-oriented, organized self-starter to coordinate and be solely responsible for all aspects of planning, recruiting and supporting community partners during the two-day Fair. The candidate must be personable and charismatic, as they will be interacting with nonprofits, civic/school groups, staff, volunteers and board members.
Responsibilities include:
Solicit and coordinate 10–12 community groups willing to staff and provide activities at onsite outdoor booths 1-2 days during the Fair weekend
Identify/research past and new community group candidates and present to CAF Event Producer
Confirm community groups with written agreements and supply details on any activities or services the groups are providing and their logos, descriptions and URLs to Webmaster and Social Media Manager
For groups offering volunteers, oversee group sign-ups on CAF volunteers application page
Tally community group table and chair rental needs if group doesn’t supply
Serve as Fair weekend point of contact for all community groups
Assist with community area fair set up and Sunday fair breakdown
Attend production meetings as assigned
Provide professional biographical information for Team page on website
Participate in post-event team survey and team debrief meeting
Position Requirements:
Excellent verbal and customer service skills
Interest in and knowledge of Cherrywood Art Fair
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task with excellent time-management skills
Team-player with a good sense of humor and positive attitude are major assets
